Well this week is all about choosing images for the Hutt Battle, which
is on Tuesday 8th November.

A reminder on how the battle works. Each club submits 10 images in each
of the four topic categories below. All images will be digitally
projected and should be jpg format not exceeding 1024 pixels
horizontally or 768 pixels vertically.

Topics:
1. Open – Colour
2. Open – Monochrome
3. Shoot from your boots
4. Including clouds

Can you please bring along images that fit the four categories. They
don’t have to be taken this year and they don’t have to be digital. If
a print image is selected, I will organise for it to be scanned.

If digital, a couple of requests:

* Can people please size images to 1024px on the longest side?

* Can people please name images as follows?
* category_firstname_lastname_anything.jpg e.g.
* weathered_mark_berger_old_thing.jpg

If we try and timebox each category to half an hour, we should be able
finish within a couple of hours. Yes, I can just see the Tui image 🙂

It is the sixth challenge of the year – Weathered. And we need to start
thinking about the Hutt Battle

Hutt Battle

we will collect them. We are going to use the meeting on 2nd November
to do the final selections. However, if we can get the images before
hand, we can work out where we need to do some more work.

The Four Travellers

A reminder about the meeting this week.

It is titled “The Four Travellers”. We are looking forward to
presentations from the four who have travelled this year i.e. Brian
Barrett, Hugh Davies, Heuchan Hobbs, Bruce Pool.

We look forward to seeing interesting images and partaking in some
stimulating discussions.

First meeting for the last third of the year. Given that we have been
busy for the last few meetings choosing entries for the Wellington
Interclub, I thought we would try something a litte different this time.

It is going to be a hands on meeting, the focus being “Seeing the Light”.

So for this meeting, can you all please bring along your
cameras along.

We will take a look at some of the characteristics of light, how it
affects the images you make and how use your camera to create different
effects.

Hopefully when you leave the meeting, your curiosity will be further
piqued and you will be looking for and seeing light in a different way.
