This week we are going to have a go at “Impressionist Photography”.

First we will take a look at what it is. There are a number of people
who work in this space, but we will be looking at Eva Polak’s work.

Second we will have a bit of a go at it ourselves. So if you can
bring your cameras along, we will take a look at how you can
get started.

We will take a look at Lightroom 5 Beta and we how you can use it
to manage your photos.

The lightroom 5 beta is available (free) for download from
adobe

You will need to register and it is a large download (850MB Windows, 460MB Mac)

If you have a laptop and want to bring it along with Lightroom 5 installed
we can take a look.

If people can bring along 6 of their recent images, we will take a look
at them in the same way we do fo the Challenges.

To recap, Each member provides six images. The rest of the group choose
the best three from those six, which are then used for the end of year
presentation.

This week, we are going to try something a little different. It is based

Basically we are going to look at some outstanding photography,
including this year’s Natex winners, try and understand what makes them
good and then come up with some “sets” that can be used on the home page
of the PSNZ web site.

Paul, from Christchurch, has been working in Wellington. He has kindly agreed
to share with us how he approaches portrait photography, what he thinks is
important and what he does differently.
