In tonight’s meeting, Hugh and Brian will give us their experiences with making books. We’ll also start thinking about/discussing our images for the Hutt Battle (42 days to go!).  And if anyone’s got some good images from their recent travels then bring them along.

It seems like it’s been ages since our last meeting, but with the month starting on a Thursday, I guess it has been a long time!

 

And speaking of time, there are just 57 days until the Hutt Battle – the topics we chose are:

  • Food
  • Minimalist
  • B&W Portrait
  • Special Effects

There are no particular plans for this meeting so if you have any photos you’ve taken that you want to show or discuss, bring them along.  Got any ideas for a shoot?  Found any “interesting” places? Got any views on the 5Dmk4? Ordered one yet???

Club meeting – 24 August 2016

Well, what an exciting time it was at the Wellington Interclub competition last week.  Karori Camera Club was a very strong contender with Mary’s Impressions image winning that category and Eva’s Macro Impressionistic photo winning both her category and the separate prize for best Impressionist image.  A fantastic result for both of you and well-deserved recognition.

However…. drum roll please….. when the points were added up it was the Hutt Camera Club which won (and finally get to put their name on the trophy)!  A great result for them.

Below are some of the photos I snapped on my phone during that evening (glad I’m not being judged on the quality of my images) of the judging and of the category winners.

Tonight is our usual club night.  Brian Barrett will be showing a selection of the amazing images from his recent trip to Europe (can I still call Britain part of Europe???).  Hope to see you there.

First things first – we still haven’t got a strong image for Happiness. Now is the time for you to take advantage of all those keywords you entered against every image you imported into Lightroom and search for happiness!  If you have one (or more) could you please print them and bring them along.  We have to make our Happiness selection tomorrow.

 The aim of the game is to have all images printed and matted and gathered together by the end of tomorrow evening so that we steer clear of any last minute hiccups.

If you’re already matted your image(s) then please bring them along.  If you haven’t already matted your image then tomorrow night is our matting session.  Bring along your image (Printed! And sized correctly!).  Could those of you who have matting equipment/machinery/experience please bring them along to assist those of us who have none of the above!

And as a special treat tomorrow night, if we finish our matting in a reasonable time, maybe Brian can show us a few images from his recent travels?!!

Last year we were soooo close… maybe this is Karori’s year… it’s time for The Wellington Interclub Competition.  Even if you don’t have an image entered, it’s the place to be…
